Kung Faux: Vol. 1 (2000)

Kung-Fu flicks, early 90's hip-hop and Mystery Science Theater 3000. Each one is awesome on it's own. Combine all three into a late night Comedy Central show (click here to add to your queue) and you can't lose, right? Probably the most awful thing I've ever seen to be honest. This is why I love, and hate, Netflix all at the same time. This has so much badness to it, in a bad way. The premise of the show is they take really crappy kung-fu flicks, replace the musical score with early 90's east coast hip-hop and have some stoned black dudes that aren't funny at all dub over the lines that the kung-fu dudes are saying. It is god-awful. Really, don't ever watch this. This is so awful that when they converted it to Netflix they didn't even remove the commercials. Seriously, the commercials are still there, and they are the most entertaining part of the whole experience. They have Grand Theft Auto: Vice City commercials, a fucked up ghetto girls gone wild video, skateboarder videos and AND-1 video commercials. Oh, and there is a Swedish rap video thrown in there for good measure. Not just a snippet to be ironic, a full 4 minute Swedish rap video. I'm speechless. I'd appreciate it if someone would tell me if I really watched this or if I somehow ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The Standard 5:

Why is it in your queue? I like kung-fu and ridiculous premises.
Is it artsy? Fuck no.
Best thing about the movie? The commercials they forgot to remove.
What mood should I be in to watch this movie? In a straight jacket with your eyelids held open Clockwork Orange style.
What rating did you give it on Netflix? 1 star.
